STEWARDSHIP

The first Wednesday of the month, eNews Weekly features a stewardship article. On the remaining Wednesdays, it includes a brief stewardship thought suitable for inclusion in Sunday bulletins. For more information about stewardship initiatives and support, please reach out to kevindixon@diohuron.org.

Stewardship Thought: Tell the Story

When St. Thomas Anglican Church in Dover Township, near Chatham, was built in 1875, the story of its benefactor, Ann Smith, was told to those gathered for the cornerstone ceremony. Her generosity mattered, but so did the story behind it. Stewardship testimony is not intended to be telling others how generous we are. It is about bearing witness to God’s presence in our lives and how our faith shapes what we do with all that God has entrusted to us. Every act of stewardship has a story. What’s yours? For the context of Ann Smith’s story, please read “A Gift That Outlived the Giver” published in eNews Weekly on October 7.
