GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE AND INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE

STOP VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS

Southern Ontario Support (SOS) is a society of the Associated Country Women of the World, (est1929).  ACWW is an international organization with over 9 million members in more than 80 countries.  ACWW aims to educate, empower and uplift women.

SOS /ACWW and the Federal and Provincial Women’s Institutes annually support the United Nations ‘16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.’  The campaign is aimed at raising awareness and calling for the end of violence against women and girls. The campaign encourages collective action through public events, advocacy, and supporting organizations that work to prevent violence, challenge harmful social norms, and support survivors.  This is what our event hopes to do.
